Patient Text De-identification, Natural Language Processing

Scrubber helps investigators ensure patient privacy when using information from clinical records in their research. By using a series of standard regular expressions, relaxed grammar rules, and user generated rules, Scrubber cleans up free text data, XML, and databases by removing patient identifiable information. Launched in 2006, the use of Scrubber has been approved by numerous hospital IRBs and quality has been validated by physician review.
