Patient Text De-identification, Natural Language Processing

 

Scrubber was created to help investigators ensure patient privacy when using information from clinical records in their research. By using a series of standard regular expressions, relaxed grammar rules, and user generated rules, Scrubber cleans up free text data, XML, and databases by removing patient identifiable information. Launched in [insert date], the use of Scrubber has been approved by numerous hospital IRBs and quality has been validated by physician review.
